Some one said, "A relationship without trust is like a dead man waiting to be buried." Yes, no relationship can survive without trust. However, some couples take things to the extreme and that became the greatest mistake of their lives.
Trusting your spouse doesn't mean leading them into temptation or being non nonchalant and naive. For instance, a woman can't say because she trusts her husband around the opposite sex, starve him sex for weeks and expect him to feel "normal" around attractive women. She can't also expect a fully grown maid run around the house and clean their bedroom with transparent gown and no bra underneath because she gives her husband sex regularly and he is a great and anointed man of God, oh gosh! What the hell do you think you are doing?
A man can't in the name of trusting his wife allow another man counsel, encourage, comfort, give money and gifts consistently to her without bothering to know the details of their relationship. You can't watch another man put his hand around your wife's waist in the name of trust, that is plain stupid!
This same principle applies to money and other areas of marriage. We should trust our spouses but we should do so with wisdom. Know your spouse' weaknesses and avoid exposing them to anything they can't handle. Be sensitive and alert in your marriage.
Pray for wisdom and discernment and learn to surround your spouse with prayer, love and support.
