The Nollywood superstars, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva have been married for 30 enviable years and their marriage is still waxing strong. They are seen as the pride of Nollywood and powerful role models to the younger generation seeking stardom in the movie industry.
Joke Silva met the handsome famous star in United Kingdom and Olu Jacobs had no doubt she was the one the moment he set his eyes on her. They courted for 4 years and in 1985 both of them became man and wife.
The marriage is not without its challenges especially the cruel intrusion of the media as it happens in all celebrity marriages.
They've had heated arguments, series of conflicts, experienced the sorrow of child loss when death snatched their daughter, dealt with their differences and stood by each other when it looked like they would never make it.
Olu Jacobs said they are each other's best friends and they communicate daily. He calls her at least three times in a day whenever they are both at their different stations and always keep in touch. He sees his wife as generous, caring and God-fearing.
Joke Silva attributed the success of their marriage to God and His grace. Olu Jacobs firmly agrees with her and truly it takes grace to go this far when celebrity marriages all over the world are crashing within the twinkle of an eye.
