No one prays for a broken marriage, not the celebrities either but the alarming rate at which their marriages crumble is a big cause for alarm. Why? It imparts on the society. They are role models to millions of youths across the globe who look up to them and sincerely wish to end up like them.
But why do celebrities marriages crash like a pile of cards within a very short period of time, ranging from 3 weeks, 3 months to 3 years and more!
1. FAULTY FOUNDATION.
If God is not at the center of any union, it can't stand. The Holy Book says it loud and clear "But if the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Absolutely nothing.
2. MARRYING FOR THE WRONG REASONS like beauty, fame and money. Granted, managing success is not easy. Meeting your right partner after attaining a measure of success, fame and wealth is a Herculean task. All kinds of people try to know you for all the wrong reasons and female actresses/musician most times fall victims. They attract men who wanted to marry them for ego boost and ride on their success; and with big sugar coated mouths and enough heart palpating promises of eternal love, they yield to the proposal, have a great wedding only to discover few months later they have married a facade.
3. PRE-MARITAL SEX is a dangerous foundation to build any marriage, why? It clouds your judgement. Most celebrities try to replay their movies in real life where they get all romantic, physically intimate, emotionally and sexually charged within few months of meeting their beau.
You can't build a lasting marriage on sex. Pre-marital sex won't allow you to think! Oxytocin or soul tie keeps people's brain from functioning normally once they are around their lovers. If there is anytime you need your senses more than ever, it is in courtship where you assess your partner's strengths and weaknesses and make a decision either to accept them or break it off but sex won't allow these people think.
You found a lady's underwear on your fiance's bed and you questioned him, he simply smiled it off, tells you sweet nothings, hushes you with kisses and ends up having passionate sex with you. Of course, the issue of cheating is temporarily forgotten but surely waiting to rear its ugly head in marriage. Same for other destructive habits, they are never dealt with. They are swept under the carpets while the intending couples go gooey looking into each other's eyes while waiting for the next sexual encounter.
After few months of courtship and a glamorous wedding, the guy/lady's real character begins to show. That is when you hear ugly stories of cheating, lies, domestic violence, abuse and "irreconcilable differences". Why in the name if God didn't they notice all these before they got married?
4. THEY DON'T NEED THEIR PARTNERS.
A great marriage is between two people who need and can't do without each other. When your partner is part of your success, you need them but if you are already made, successful, accomplished and extremely beautiful, you can do without your partner any day, anytime. These made some celebrities to rush in and out of their marriages.
5. DESPERATION.
Age, societal expectations, family, peer pressure and other known or unknown pressure often make celebrities marry wrong.
6. COMPETITION.
Strange as it seems, some celebrities marry just to "show them." They want to have the most beautiful and expensive wedding of the year that will be the talk of the town for a long long time. So they pick the man/woman who shares the same faulty passion and went on to have an internationally viewed wedding only to face international shame after the wedding collapsed just few months after.
7. PRIDE.
A proud woman won't submit to her husband. Some women are rigid, stubborn, opinionated, myopic, bossy, sassy and cocky. They like calling the shots in the home, refuse to adapt to their husbands and they would never leave their career and build their homes even when their husbands beg them to. They shouldn't have married in the first place. A successful marriage is between two people who are ready to change and adapt to each other but if you are not ready to adapt, why get married in the first place?
8. PERSONAL AGENDA.
Our vision is part of our lives in fact, it is our life. We can't survive long without it. A lot of musicians/actors and actresses can't survive without acting/singing and they enjoy what they do. Why would a man then marry such a woman and ask her to dump her passion in the name of love and marriage? If you know you can't accept her career or interest, why did you marry her in the first place?
These are some of the reasons celebrity marriages crash.
Learning about them will help us avoid their mistakes and I hope they learn too. It's not easy going through the pain of divorce. It's not something I wish for my enemy.
